WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative-elect Kristi Noem was elected today by her Republican freshman class colleagues to serve as a liaison to the elected leadership. Noem will share duties with U.S. Representative-elect Tim Scott (R-SC) in representing the freshman class at the leadership table. The historic incoming freshman class will make up one third of the entire Republican conference in the U.S. House.
“I am honored that my freshman class colleagues have put their trust in me to represent our historic class at the leadership table. The incoming freshman class of Representatives is large and diverse but we share many common goals including cutting wasteful spending, getting our economy back on track and making government smarter and more efficient. We didn’t come here to become Washington, we came here to change Washington,” said Noem.
“While South Dakota only receives one vote in the U.S. House, this new position will help ensure our voice is heard where the decisions are made. My number one goal is to be an effective voice for South Dakota and this position will help me do just that,” said Noem.
